Capcom product manager Mike Lunn responded to such queries on the US PlayStation Blog, stating that it was a technical issue with porting to the platform.
"When we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent," Lunn stated in a comment. A big screen experience is all well and good, but this totally ignores the fact that the game was originally designed for a system with a smaller screen than the Vita and even less horsepower.
