El Shaddai director acquires IP rights from previous publisher

Remember the wonderfully-named El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, the Book of Enoch-inspired Japanese action game that released on these shores late 2011?
It was published by UTV Ignition, which was bought by Disney in February 2012. We hadn't heard what was to become of the series since. Now, we have.
That's because El Shaddai's director and character designer Sawaki Takeyasu has bought the franchise rights from Ignition, according to Kotaku, via his company Crim, and wants to "develop a potential*El Shaddai*business moving forward", which sounds to us like a sequel may be on the cards.
