  • Surreal stealthy open-world noir adventure Tangiers emerges on Kickstarter

    Back in May I wrote about a promising looking avant garde stealth adventure called Tangiers and unsurprisingly, it's now on Kickstarter.
    Aside from looking incredible, Tangiers is full of unique, innovative ideas. The game casts you as an outsider to this strange world and it's your goal to infiltrate this fractured, nightmarish urban sprawl and dispose of five beings. The Bristol-based developer Andalusian noted that its core stealth mechanics will feel similar to Looking Glass' Thief series - with an emphasis on sticking to the shadows - but it's got a host of peculiar features that sound unlike anything else out there.
    The world is constantly transforming, for one. "Your interactions with the world cause it to fall apart," Andalusian noted in its description. "In homage to [William] Burrough's cut-up technique, the world collapses and rebuilds itself the more you interact with it - future areas rebuilt with the fragments and personality of places you mistreated. From this every play-through will, subtly or drastically, be unique to you." The developer added that not only will Tangier's geography adapt to your presence, but its difficulty will be reactive as well.
