  • Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child! sequel to get western localisation

Last year a Japanese turn-based PSP RPG with the ridiculous title that translates to Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child! managed to sell quite well in its native land. Now, its sequel, Conception 2: Children of the Seven Stars, is getting localised for a North American release this spring on Vita and 3DS, courtesy of niche publisher Atlus.
So what's this nonsensically named series about, you ask? Simple: Children of the Seven Stars is a standalone story that follows a young man blessed with a divine power from the Star Gods that he must use to fight off ever-spawning demons. Unfortunately, those with Star Gods' powers, called Disciples, only keep them until they're 18. And with Disciples at an all-time low, the super-powered teenagers must breed an army by actually, literally, breeding an army. I'm not making this up.
Selling points include "no child labour laws" and "no monogamy." This is war, after all. Ultimately, the woefully politically incorrect game sounds like a fairly traditional dungeon-crawling JRPG with position-based, turn-based combat. It just so happens to have a lot more teen pregnancy.
