PlayStation 3 owners may feel justified in raising a cynical eyebrow at the release of this remastered edition of The Last of Us little more than a year after the original game came out. Still, neither Sony nor Microsoft are exactly swimming in essential exclusives in 2014, and it's hard to deny the allure of one of last year's best games getting the next-gen treatment.
For those who missed out on The Last of Us the first time around, Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic yarn was lauded as much for its characters and depth of writing, as it was its undeniable technical achievements. Now it's been spruced up with the full next-gen treatment, and there'll even be a sprinkling of fresh new DLC later on this year.
