  • Why Batman: Arkham Knight Doesn't Have Co-Op

2015's action game Batman: Arkham Knight doesn't have co-op mode, but there is a good reason for that, according to developer Rocksteady Studios. Fundamental to making the game the "ultimate Batman simulator" is putting the player--just one player--into the boots of the Dark Knight himself, the studio says.
"We're making a Batman game," a Rocksteady representative said during a recent livestream for the game. "For us, that means getting the player to be the Batman. It's a single-player experience where you get to pick up the controller and wear the cowl and be that guy. So there won't be any co-op."
Arkham Knight launches in June 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Rocksteady also recently confirmed that it is aiming for graphical parity across all platforms, though a specific resolution and frame rate have not been finalized due to the game still being around six months away from launch.
