  • No Plans For Another Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta

Developer 343 Industries has no plans to offer a second multiplayer beta for Xbox One game Halo 5: Guardians. That's according to studio head Josh Holmes, who says in a new interview that the beta available right now to owners of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be the game's first and last.
"We currently have no plans for a second multiplayer beta," Holmes told IGN.
Xbox One Preview Program members can also access the Halo 5 beta, but membership to this program is limited, available by invitation only.
If you're in the Halo 5 multiplayer beta, you'll notice it's specifically called the "Arena Multiplayer Beta," which suggested another might follow. But now we know this won't be the case.
There are no vehicles or large-scale maps available in the current Halo 5 beta, though Holmes stressed that 343 will start to talk about the game's bigger maps and vehicle-focused modes in the lead-up to its full launch this fall.
"The Arena experience showcases the core Spartan abilities and mechanics that provide a foundation for other modes throughout the game," he said. "We'll have more to discuss on the remainder of our multiplayer suite next year including larger, more vehicle-focused experiences. For now we are wholly focused on the current beta and looking forward to hearing feedback from participants."
Also in the interview, Holmes reveals that, starting this week, Halo 5 beta players will get to vote on the next map that will be added to the mix. Your choices are either Pegasus or Orion, both of which were made using Halo's Forge map-editor. More details about these maps will be revealed when voting begins tomorrow, January 6.
