  • $1 Million Up For Grabs At 2015 Call of Duty Championship

Activision on Thursday announced plans for the 2015 Call of Duty Championship, which will see the top Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare teams duke it out for $1 million in prizes.
To be held March 27-29 in Los Angeles, this year's tournament is sponsored in part by Microsoft/Xbox and Major League Gaming. A total of 32 teams from around the world will compete for the title "World Champions" and the bulk of the $1 million total tournament purse.
Qualifying events will be held online through Xbox One, while the 2015 Call of Duty Championship final match will be broadcast live on Xbox Live and other networks. Overall, Activision says its aim for this year's tournament is to "boost eSports to new heights."
"We developed Advanced Warfare with the competitive community in mind, and we can't wait for the top talent from around the world to compete in the Call of Duty Championships," Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield said in a statement.

The 2015 Call of Duty Championship is open to anyone, regardless of your amateur or professional status. For more on this year's event, head to this website.
