Rock Band Getting New DLC Tomorrow After 21 Months Off

Rock Band developer Harmonix has not released a new DLC track in 21 months, but that's going to change tomorrow. The Cambridge, Mass. developer on Monday announced that new DLC songs from Avenged Sevenfold, Arctic Monkeys, and Foo Fighters will be available tomorrow, January 13.
The songs, listed below, can be purchased for $2 each from the Rock Band Music Store, and are compatible with Rock Band 3 and Rock Band Blitz. PlayStation 3 owners in Europe will need to wait the longest to get the new DLC, as it won't arrive there until January 21.
Rock Band January 13 DLC:

• Avenged Sevenfold -- "Shepherd Of Fire" ($2)
• Arctic Monkeys -- "R U Mine?" ($2)
• Foo Fighters -- "Something From Nothing" ($2)

The three new tracks will add to Rock Band's already-massive library of songs, which features more than 3,500 tracks from more than 1,400 artists.
After 275 straight weeks of new DLC and 130 million songs downloaded, Harmonix originally ended Rock Band DLC support in April 2013.


So why is Harmonix reviving Rock Band DLC now? And do they plan to offer more DLC tracks in the weeks and months ahead? Unfortunately, Harmonix didn't say. We've reached out to the company for clarification, and will update this post with anything we hear back.


Looking forward, Harmonix has been open in discussing plans, albeit faroff plans, for Rock Band 4.
