Media-streaming service Plex is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 today in North America, Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog. The app is already available on PlayStation consoles in Europe.
The Plex app organizes your personal media, whether that's music, photos, or video. At launch today, the Plex app will only let you stream videos, but Sony says the ability to stream music and photos will be introduced sometime soon.
To use the Plex app right now, you'll need to have a Plex Pass, which starts at $5/month. Looking ahead, Sony said the service will be offered for free to those without a Plex Pass, but further details were not provided. More information about Plex on PlayStation is available here.
Plex apps are already available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
