  • Rarest PS4 on the Planet Now Up for Auction

An online auction for what could be the rarest PlayStation 4 on the planet has begun in Japan.
The auction is for a 20th Anniversary PS4, already a rare system with only 12,300 ever made, but this system is the very first unit ever produced. System number one.
Sony is selling the console through Yahoo! Auctions, with all proceeds going to Save the Children Japan. Sony will match the amount raised by the auction, according to Kotaku.

Bidding on the system opened Friday and ends January 25. The current high bid is ¥1.4 million yen ($11,850), but it's expected to climb higher before the auction closes on Sunday.
Western PlayStation fans may be sad to learn that Sony will not ship the console overseas. However, gamers in the US and Europe can still bid on the many 20th Anniversary PS4s available now on eBay.
Sony released the 20th Anniversary PS4 in December 2014 to celebrate the original PlayStation's launch in Japan in December 1994. Units sold out in a matter of minutes. For everything you need to know about the console, check out GameSpot's unboxing video below.
