  • PS4 Sub Accounts Can Now Graduate to Master Accounts

PlayStation 4 owners who have a PSN sub account can now upgrade to a master account, Sony has announced.
The upgrade feature was sought specifically by PS4 owners who have turned 18. Prior to reaching adulthood, these owners could set up a sub account, which had various parental controls attached and regulated access to buying goods on the PlayStation Store. A variety of PSN features can be limited through sub accounts, such as messages, monthly spending limits, and gameplay broadcasts.
But the problem some people faced was, when they turned 18 and were legally free to buy their own goods and consume mature content, they still were lumbered with a sub account.
Faced with a growing number of requests, Sony has now amended the PSN software platform so that sub accounts can upgrade to master accounts, which grants users full control of their console. Users' full profiles will be carried over, along with friends lists and trophies.
Instructions on how to start this process through the web can be found here.
