Helldivers, the PlayStation-exclusive twin-stick shooter from Magicka developer Arrowhead Game Studios, will launch on March 4, the developer has announced.
The game is set in a "satirical dystopian" future, where mankind, or "Super Earth," is at war with an intergalactic alien threat. With its bug-like aliens and tongue-in-cheek jingoism, its setting is reminiscent of Paul Verhoeven's adaptation of Starship Troopers, and its gameplay focuses on the top-down action Arrowhead is known for from the first Magicka and Gauntlet.
Also like Magicka and Gauntlet, Helldivers can be played alone or in a four-player cooperative mode, where you and your friends are working together to defeat the aliens, but are also fighting over weapons and other special abilities.
Helldivers is a cross-play title, meaning buying it once will allow you to play it on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.
