  • Evolve: Nearly 6 Million Matches Played In First Week

Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios' highly touted monster-hunting game Evolve was finally released last week. Now, publisher 2K Games has released a detailed infographic that speaks to some of the game's first-week accomplishments. One statistic that's missing, however, is a unit sales number for the title.
The full infographic is available at the bottom of this post, but you can see some standout statistics immediately below.
    Evolve Week-One Stats:

    • Nearly 6 million matches played--5,989,905 to be exact.
    • Longest match: 43 minutes.
    • Shortest match: 60 seconds.
    • Average match length: 9:46 minutes.
    • Total combined time played: 108 years.
    • 133.7 million minutes watch on Twitch.
    • Most popular Assault Hunter character (among level-20+ players): Hyde.
    • Most popular Trapper Hunter character (among level-20+ players): Abe.
    • Most popular Medic Hunter character (among level-20+ players): Lazarus.
    • Most popular Support Hunter character (among level-20+ players): Cabot.
    • Most popular Monster (among level-20+ players): Goliath.
    • Monsters won 51.9 percent of matches.

2K parent company Take-Two Interactive acquired Evolve for $10.8 million during THQ's bankruptcy auction in 2013. CEO Strauss Zelnick said earlier this month that preorders for Evolve were looking strong, and all signs were pointing to a successful launch. However, it remains to be seen just how well the game has actually sold.
