  • Next Amiibo Wave Revealed, Includes Pokemon and Fire Emblem Characters

    • Jigglypuff
    • Greninja
    • Lucina
    • Robin
    • Ness

UPDATE: In the US, Ness will only be available at GameStop. Pre-orders start tomorrow, April 2.

    September

    • Pikmin
    • Zero Suit Samus
    • Ganondorf
    • Dr. Mario

Nintendo also revealed details on how demos for Virtual Console games attached to the Amiibo will work. Working through a free download called Amiibo Tap: Tapping an Amiibo on your Wii U game pad will let you play a three-minute highlight from a game available on the Virtual Console store. You won't be able to make much progress, but if you tap the character again, you'll get to try a separate part of the game.
But don't think that just because you're playing with a Mario Amiibo you'll automatically access Super Mario Bros. The game's are randomly assigned to each Amiibo, and you won't know what you have access to until you tap it to your system.
Yoshi's Wooly World will have an Amiibo pack-in as well -- the first plush Amiibo. Coming in three colors: Green, Pink, or Blue, the Amiibo will net you some assistance from a computer-controlled character in your Yoshi adventure.

Splatoon will get a set of Amiibo as well. You can get a three-set that includes a boy character, girl character, and Inkling enemy. Or you can get the boy and girl individually.

And as promised, more Marth Amiibo are coming in May.
Nintendo also mentioned that some Amiibo would be coming in the form of cards, and the first game to use that model will be the newly announced Animal Crossing: Happy Home Maker.
Happy Home Maker will be launching this fall, the same day as the Amiibo Reader accessory for the regular 3DS.
