The iOS version of Blizzard's wildly popular card game, Hearthstone, has been updated to officially support both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
This version has been a long time coming. First announced back in November 2013, the iPhone and Android versions were expected to be out in 2014. They ended up being delayed until 2015, although iPad and Android tablet versions were released in April and December of last year, respectively.
While the additional screen real estate of the iPhone 6 Plus will likely make playing easier, you don't need one to download and play Hearthstone. The minimum requirements are an iPhone 4S or fifth generation iPod Touch. There's no word on when the promised Android phone version will arrive, but we've contacted Blizzard to find out and will report back with anything we learn.
Today's new update also adds a new indicator to tell you when your connection is losing signal--something that should be especially useful when playing on a phone--and fixes a handful of bugs.
Blizzard says this new version features "an all-new intuitive interface handcrafted for the mobile experience." You can see a few screenshots of what it looks like below, or try it for yourself and earn yourself a free card pack.
This isn't all that's new for Hearthstone fans right now, as Blizzard released the latest expansion pack, Blackrock Mountain, just recently.
