With Windows 10 scheduled to roll out worldwide starting tomorrow, July 29, some gamers might be wondering how the new operating system may affect their PC gaming. For Star Citizen at least, you shouldn't run into any major issues, according to developer Cloud Imperium Games.
In his latest video blog, creator Chris Roberts says the development team encountered some issues with bringing Star Citizen to Windows 10, but those problems should be worked out in time for launch.
"We definitely will be working to make sure that we're compatible on Windows 10 from the beginning. I'm not aware of major problems if someone upgrades to Windows 10," he said, while also pointing out that he's not making a guarantee there won't be problems.
"That is something we will make sure won't be an issue," Roberts said about the upgrade path to Windows 10.
With more than $85.4 million in funding, Star Citizen is the top crowdfunded project of any kind in history. The game's FPS mode, Star Marine, was recently delayed--but not canceled.
As part of a special offer, Windows 7 and 8 users can upgrade to Windows 10 for free for the first year after launch. In other Windows 10 gaming news, Microsoft recently published a set of instructions for how PC owners can start playing the "whole new" version of Minecraft for Windows 10 beginning tomorrow.
