  • Gears of War Creator's New PC Shooter Gets New Name, More Details

[UPDATE] The stream has ended, but you can see a trailer for Lawbreakers below.
    The original story is below.
The teases are over. Gears of War creator Cliff Blesiznski has finally announced that his new game, a free-to-play PC shooter formerly known as Project Blue Streak, is now officially called Lawbreakers.
Bleszinski and his studio, Boss Key, are revealing the game live now on Twitch. Watch the event below.
The 5v5 arena shooter-style Lawbreakers pits two teams--Laws and Breakers--against each other. Players can "manipulate gravity," and Bleszinski explained that Lawbreakers is very vertical and you never want to be on the ground. Players will get to use jet packs, grappling hooks, and a large variety of weapons.
There will also be numerous female characters to play as, Blesinzki said, adding that he wants the game to appeal to a wide audience. Overall, Bleszinski described Lawbreakers as a game about "gangs, guns, and gravity."
We'll have more details on Lawbreakers as they're announced.
As previously announced, Lawbreakers is set in a sci-fi world, but it's not post-apocalyptic. Boss Key released the first pre-alpha footage for the game, which runs on Unreal Engine 4, during PAX East back in April.
For more on the game, you can check out some weapon concept art and read Bleszinski's thoughts about the free-to-play business model and how his new game won't be pay-to-win.
Lawbreakers will launch in 2016 for PC, with a release for consoles possibly coming later, though this has not been confirmed. For more, check out the interview below.
