  • Microsoft's New Wearable Tech Leaked

Details on Microsoft's wearable fitness tracker have leaked, showing a sleeker, better-fitting update of the Microsoft Band.
According to Spanish site MicrosoftInsider, the new band is code-named "Envoy," and the device is expected to make an appearance at Microsoft's October 6 event in New York City.
As far as design goes, the Envoy certainly looks sleek and refined. The front panel and physical buttons have a metallic finish, and the display is curved to follow the natural contours of a human wrist.
The device can measure physical activity, as you would expect from a fitness-tracking device. It can also detect changes in altitude.
Just recently, Microsoft filed a patent for a wearable smart bracelet, but it's unlikely the patent was filed for this updated device. In the patent, the company explains the device is comprised of "interactive smart beads" attached to a connecting element, and opens the possibility for interaction with toys-to-life franchises like Skylanders.
At its October 6 press event, Microsoft is also expected to reveal its Surface Pro 4 tablet.
