Netflix may be looking to bolster its lineup of original programming with an all-new animated show from Matt Groening, the co-creator and executive producer of the iconic and longrunning TV show, The Simpsons.
Deadline reports that Netflix "is in talks" with Groening--who also created Futurama--for an animated show that he created and will also write.
Unfortunately, however, no further details are available at this time. There was also no information provided regarding how far along discussions between Groening and Netflix have progressed or when an official announcement may be made.
Netflix's library of exclusive animated shows already includes BoJack Horseman, F Is for Family, and the upcoming Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham.
The Simpsons is one of the best-known and most beloved animated shows of all time. The show is currently in its 27th season, and Groening remains on-board as its executive producer.
It's certainly exciting to think about what Groening might do for Netflix, if the deal does indeed happen. What would you like to see from Groening and Netflix? Let us know in the comments below!
