  • Diablo Dev Keeps Hiring for New Project in the Series

It's now been four years since Diablo III originally launched, and many fans are hoping that a new game in the series is on its way. Recently we got another sign that developer Blizzard is working on a Diablo project: the studio posted a job listing that calls for a game director to "lead the Diablo series into the future."
The position is located at Blizzard's headquarters in Irvine, California, and was published this week, according to BlizzPro. The listing calls for someone with "outstanding communications skills, proven experience in creative direction, strong ability in system design, and a stellar track record of shipping AAA games."
This suggests that Blizzard is looking for someone new to head up the next Diablo project. It's unclear exactly what this would look like, however. It could be that Blizzard is working on a new expansion for Diablo III or even a Diablo spinoff game. The game director of Diablo III is currently Josh Mosqueira, and it's unclear what will happen to him if Blizzard hires a new director.
There've been a couple high-profile departures from Blizzard recently. The lead designer on Diablo III, Leonard Boyarsky, left the developer earlier this year, and Diablo III's previous game director (before Mosquiera), Jay Wilson, departed this month.
This isn't the first sign that Blizzard's working on something related to the Diablo series. Last year, the studio was hiring an art director to work on an "unannounced project" in the Diablo universe.
