  • Fallout 4 Mod Tools Update Includes These Fixes

In addition to an update for Fallout 4 itself, Bethesda this week patched the game's Creation Kit. The patch notes, which were posted on Bethesda's website and listed below, cover things like bug fixes and general stability improvements.
With the update applied, players should also now find the source scripts for the Contraptions Workshop expansion, which came out at the end of June. You can find these inside the Creation Kit in directory /Source/DLC05.
Additionally, the new Creation Kit patch updates the game's base scripts (Bethesda didn't say how), while the game should no longer crash when changing data files and exiting the Creation Kit. You can see the complete patch notes below.
The Creation Kit is the name of Fallout 4's official modding tools for PC. Mods made on PC can be played on Xbox One, but the mod program's release has been delayed on PlayStation 4.
Fallout 4's 1.6 update, which added 300-plus new names to Codsworth's vocabulary, landed this week on PC and comes to Xbox One next week. There is no word yet on when it will arrive for PS4.
Fallout 4 Creation Kit 1.6 Patch Notes:

    FIXES
    • Source scripts for Contraptions added (found in \Source\DLC05)
    • Base scripts updated
    • General stability improvements including fixes for crashes when changing data files and when exiting the Creation Kit
    • Fixed issue with body text fields not saving properly for terminals
    • Fixed for skin textures not rendering properly for actors in user-created master files. (Face data for actors in mods no longer use archived actor meshes and textures. These files are still generated by the Creation Kit but are no longer used and do not need to be archived.)
    • Added material files to the list of valid files for archiving
