Microsoft has announced a summer sale for the Xbox One 500GB console, which will run as long as "supplies last." All Xbox One 500GB consoles are now $249.
This deal applies to the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition bundle, the special edition Quantum Break bundle featuring a white Xbox One, and the Name your Game bundle that allows the purchaser to redeem one digital game of their choice out of Forza Motorsport 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, or Rare Replay.
The new price represents a $100 discount, and at GameStop the markdown also applies to the 1TB Xbox One, bringing the price down to $300. The last time we saw a major price drop for the Xbox One was back in March, with the console marked down to $300 during Microsoft's Spring Sale.
The price drop follows on from recent reports that the PlayStation 4 was again the top-selling console in the US for the month of June, claiming the spot for the third month in a row. Overall, hardware sales in the US dropped a dramatic 42 percent year-over-year, from $313.1 million last June to $181.5 million this year.
