  • Alienware Launches High-End PC Gaming and VR Lounge in Sydney

Hardware manufacturer Alienware has announced the launch of Alienware Live AU in Sydney, a gaming space featuring multiple high-end PCs. Kicking off on August 18, the company has partnered with internet cafe City Hunter to host the event, which will include a dedicated virtual reality space.
The Alienware Aurora. To be held at City Hunter Chatswood, Alienware Live AU will feature 28 high-end PCs loaded with "the latest games." The models will include Alienware's entire range of Area 51, Aurora, Alpha, and gaming laptop lines. Two of those PCs will be dedicated to running VR; one equipped with an Oculus Rift, and the other setup in an area with the HTC Vive. Both VR experiences will be running on 43-inch 4K monitors from Dell.
Alienware Australia will be hosting a launch party on August 18. Fans can win tickets to enter by entering a competition on Twitter using the #PushYourLimits hashtag--more details are available on the official Alienware Australia Twitter account.
The HTC Vive headset was first earlier this year. GameSpot reviewed the Vive and praised the hardware's freedom of movement, but said it was weighed down by costs and required compromises from the user. By comparison, the Oculus Rift offered a lower barrier of entry to immersive gaming experiences.
