  • No Man's Sky Could Get Paid DLC

No Man's Sky director Sean Murray admits in a new interview that he was "perhaps naive" for suggesting he would like to see the game only get free updates after launch.
He told the Daily Star (some quasi-NSFW images at the link) that he could not rule out the possibility that No Man's Sky will feature some paid DLC in the future.
"Maybe in the future there's some reason why we just couldn't possibly afford to do a certain feature without charging for it," Murray said.
Some new features coming to No Man's Sky include "the ability to build bases and own giant space freighters." Murray announced these prior to the game's release last week on PlayStation 4 and PC.
While a release date for these new features, or any other ones, has not been announced, Murray recently teased that a new patch is coming and it will make people "very happy."

"Hello Games will continually update No Man's Sky this way," Murray said in a blog post.
In another pre-release blog post where Murray attempted to temper players' expectations for No Man's Sky, he also teased that major-sounding new features could come in the future.
"If you hoped for things like pvp multiplayer or city building, piloting freighters, or building civilizations… that isn't what NMS is," he said. "Over time it might become some of those things through updates."
