  • Homeland Security Is Investigating the Leslie Jones Website Hack

The United States Department of Homeland Security is investigating the recent hack of Ghostbusters and Saturday Night Live actor Leslie Jones' website. The government agency's Immigration and Customs Enforcement division is looking into the matter, but is not sharing any further details at this time, according to an Associated Press report.
Her website was cracked earlier this week and hackers posted personal information found there, including her driver's license and passport, along with nude photos.
The breach came after an online campaign against the actress and comedian where she faced a wave of sexist and racist remarks. She described the event as a "personal hell," according to GameSpot sister site CNET. In the wake of this, Jones quit Twitter for a period.
Jones' website is currently offline and she has not tweeted since August 23. She could not be reached for comment when the Associated Press tried to contact her representatives.
Jones stars in Sony's new Ghostbusters playing the parts made famous by a cast of men in the 1984 original. The movie faced controversy for this, and other things, long before its release. Sony responded to the controversy by asking for more.
The movie made more than $200 million, but was apparently not a box office hit on the level that Sony would have hoped for. As a result, a sequel might not happen.
