Being Cool Dudes, Noctis and company like to play games of their own in the world of Final Fantasy XV. This includes one called Justice Monsters Five that is an actual, playable minigame in FFXV. You don't have to wait until FFXV launches to give it a try, however, as Square Enix today released it as a standalone game.
Justice Monsters Five is a sort of pinball game crossed with an RPG. It exists as an arcade machine in FFXV's Crow's Nest Diners, but is now a full game on iOS and Android devices (with a Windows 10 PC version coming "soon"). It's free to download, though there are microtransactions if you really want to go crazy with it.
It's described in a press release as "hugely popular in the Kingdom of Lucis with Crown Prince Noctis and his friends among its fans." It adds, "Players join the Justice Monsters--Bomb Bro, Casanova Coeurl, Fab Flan, and Lamiana--in the struggle to save the Nova Galaxy from the diabolical Lord Vexxos. Using simple touch and flick controls, engage in exhilarating battles, unleash special attacks, and recruit and train new monsters to fight for justice and defeat the forces of evil."
From now until September 25, logging in daily earns you special rewards, including Golden Orbs, the in-game currency that's also sold through microtransactions.
You can grab the game on iOS or Android.
FFXV was scheduled for release on September 30 but was recently delayed until November 29. That didn't impact the release of tie-in movie Kingsglaive, which debuted in theaters earlier this month and is out on digital platforms today.
