If you have any interest in ever playing Castle of Illusion, you're running out of time to get your hands on it.
Sega confirmed with GameSpot this week that Castle of Illusion is being delisted from a number of platforms, meaning it will no longer be available for sale. "Due to an expiration of business terms, Sega will no longer be able to sell Castle of Illusion on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Steam, with the current publishing arrangement coming to an end on September 2," the company said.
Despite this, those who own the game will have no problem continuing to play it after September 2--you just won't be able to buy it anymore. "For players who own the game, they will be able to re-download it to their respective system at any point in the future--this delisting should not prevent current owners from being able to access the game at a later time," Sega said.
Conveniently enough, the game is on sale on PC if that's the version you're interested in--you can get it for $2 on Steam or the Humble Store. It was also added as a backward compatible game on Xbox One this week, so there's new reason to pick up the Xbox 360 version.
Castle of Illusion originally launched back in 2013. It's a remake of the 1990 Sega Genesis game of the same name. For more, you can check out GameSpot's review.
