Kingsman follow-up The Golden Circle will be an "unconventional" sequel, according to actor Colin Firth. Its irregular nature may have something to do with Firth's character, Harry Hart, he teased in an interview with Collider.
"It's no secret that I'm involved, somewhere and somehow," he explained. "From what I've been able to gather, it's not going to feel like a conventional sequel. It's going to be something that feels very much its own thing. I'm very optimistic about it."
Firth went on to say that he can't divulge many details about how his character returns, though he did say some of the speculation on the internet is wrong.
"I want to keep the surprise alive a little longer. I think they're going to be surprised again," he said.
Colin Firth played Harry Hart/Galahad, an agent of the Kingsman who was killed in the later part of the first movie.
The first poster for The Golden Circle strongly hinted that Firth's character would return for the sequel. In July, a set photo apparently showed Firth preparing for a scene.
The movie will see Taron Egerton play young spy Gary "Eggsy" Unwin once more, with Mark Strong and Edward Holcroft also set to return. The impressive supporting cast also includes Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Vinnie Jones, and Elton John.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on 16 June, 2017.
