Fallout 4's newest DLC, Nuka-World, features a tribute to a fan who passed away. With the release of Nuka-World this week, it's now been discovered that Bethesda based a character on the man.
Reddit user NoohjXLVII wrote a message months ago (via Eurogamer) that talked about how playing Fallout 4 helping him get through the pain of losing his father a year earlier. This was only the beginning of his heartbreak.
He went on to detail how his 24-year-old brother was admitted to the ICU with a diabetes-related illness. His younger brother died in the hospital. "So kind, uplifting, optimistic, and caring. It's unfair he was taken from us," he wrote.
This week, NoohjXLVII posted another message on Reddit stating that Bethesda responded to his first message by including his brother Evan in Fallout 4's Nuka-World DLC. He remarked that Evan's character model is "too skinny," but overall it caught his essence well.
"The words they use sound exactly like him, however he was also a pretty funny guy, full of puns," he said. "Thank you again Bethesda, I am forever in your debt."
As you can see in the video, you can speak to Evan in the game and eventually receive a "Nuka-Love" recipe for free. You don't need to feel guilty about taking Evan's item, according to his brother. "He insists you take it and in real life he would give you the shirt off of his back to help those in need," he said.
Bethesda also sent NoohjXLVII a care package that included a nice note from the team and a number of items such as toys, a t-shirt, the game's soundtrack, and a Fallout 4 Xbox One controller. You can see everything Bethesda sent him in this Imgur post.
You can find Evan's home in the southern-most reaches of Nuka-World's map.
