  • "Millions" Have Played Destiny: Rise of Iron Already

"Millions" of people have already played Destiny's new Rise of Iron expansion following its release on Tuesday, Bungie said in its latest weekly blog post today. The developer also acknowledged the game's server issues at launch, which were so severe that people have to be put in queues. Thankfully, the server problems were quickly fixed.
"Millions of Guardians descended from orbit to confront their own demons. They charged up the face of Felwinter Peak to take their rightful place next to Lord Saladin," Bungie wrote. "Ever since, we've seen a ton of mountaintop selfies. With wolves. We told you not to pet those wolves!
Bungie also teased that Rise of Iron may not be the latest new chapter in Destiny's story. "There are more episodes in store for you to experience," the developer said.
Destiny's Rise of Iron expansion costs $30 on PS4 and Xbox One and is also included with the $60 Destiny: The Collection package, which includes the base game and all DLC.
Next up for Rise of Iron is the new raid, Wrath of the Machine. Earlier today, Bungie released a new gameplay video for the six-player raid, showing it off in greater detail. It goes live tomorrow, September 23, starting at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
