Blade Runner Sequel Gets a Title, Ridley Scott Appears to Be Involved
[UPDATE] During the Oculus Connect keynote today, it was announced that there will be new Blade Runner VR experiences coming out around the time of Blade Runner 2049 next year.

The Blade Runner sequel now has a name: Blade Runner 2049.
The title was announced today, though plot details for the sci-fi film are still to be released. What's confirmed so far is that the movie will star Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, while Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto will also appear.
Ridley Scott directed the 1982 original, which was set in 2019. It was previously thought that he might not be involved with the sequel, but apparently that's not the case. The image above, shared by Deadline, shows Scott alongside Villeneuve, Ford, and Gosling. It remains to be seen what his level of involvement is.
The original Blade Runner was based on a Philip K. Dick novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Alcon Entertainment, which owns the Blade Runner rights, is producing the new movie.
Blade Runner 2049 was originally slated for January 2018 before getting moved up and is now expected to hit theaters on October 6, 2017. You can check out concept art for the upcoming movie here.
