  • Star Wars' Adam Driver to Play Quadruple Amputee in New Military Movie

Adam Driver will play one of the lead roles in the movie version of the real-world story of a U.S. soldier who lost his arms and legs on the battlefield.
Deadline reports that Driver (The Force Awakens, Silence) will play US Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills in the movie Tough as They Come, which is based on Mills' 2015 memoir of the same name. Only five soldiers have reportedly ever survived quadruple amputee injuries, and Mills is one of them.

The Tough as They Come movie will focus on Mills' relationship with his father-in-law, Craig Buck, who will be played by Sylvester Stallone; Stallone is also directing the movie.
According to Deadline, the movie is currently being shopped to film studios, including Fox, though no deal has been reached yet.
In April 2012, during his third deployment in Afghanistan, Mills lost both legs above the knees, his right arm below the shoulder, and his left arm below the elbow from an IED explosion. Mills' story was told in the 2015 documentary Travis: A Soldier's Story.
