  • Animal Crossing mobile pushed back to next fiscal year

    Nintendo's Animal Crossing game for mobile has been pushed back to the next fiscal year - which runs from this April to next March - it has recently emerged as part of the company's financials.
    Animal Crossing on mobile was announced last year as part of Nintendo's move into the sector in partnership with mobile giants DeNA. Fire Emblem, which was announced alongside Animal Crossing in April, is coming to Android devices this week in the form of Fire Emblem Heroes, a free-to-play effort that uses a 'gacha' style monetisation method whereby players pay money for a chance to unlock new characters.
    Animal Crossing on mobile was said to be a 'pure game application' by Nintendo, and was also to be 'free-to-start'. It's now expected before March 2018, while we're yet to receive any news of the series arriving on Switch - though the Animal Crossing team have certainly been busy, creating a sizeable update for the 3DS' New Leaf late last year.
