  • See Beauty And The Beast's Massive Sets And More In New Video

A new behind-the-scenes video for Disney's upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast came online today. Via Entertainment Weekly, the video features commentary from all the main cast members, including Emma Watson (Belle) and Dan Stevens (the Beast), as well as director Bill Condon. They talk about things like what it means to them to work on a new entry in such a beloved and renowned franchise. Another interesting part of the video is that it reveals some of the massive, intricate-looking sets that Disney built for the film.
"I've worked on films before where the craftsmanship has been amazing, but this has been unbelievable," Watson said in the video.

Also in the video, Condon responds to the question on a lot of people's minds--why make a new Beauty and the Beast when the first one was so beloved?
"I just thought it was the most beautiful and perfect movie," Condon said about the 1991 animated original. "The question becomes, 'Why remake something that's perfect?' Part of it was this great opportunity to tell it in a live-action, fully photo-real version, and to distinguish Belle again and distinguish Belle 25 years later as a 21st century heroine."
Watson added that the new movie will expand on the original and give it "more detail and more depth."
For his part, LeFou actor Josh Gad said, "This version of Beauty and the Beast will define a whole new generation in a wonderful way."
Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17. It is just the latest live-action adaptation of a classic Disney film, following Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Alice in Wonderland.
