Johnny English Is Back After 7 Years With An Absurd New Trailer
It's been seven years since we last saw him, and the Johnny English franchise is now finally set to return. The third movie, Johnny English Strikes Again, is coming this year, and today a new trailer for the over-the-top and absurd spy movie parody has landed--and it's a treat.
Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson is back in the role of the "world's great spy" at the fake British spy agency MI7. He's been called back in to thwart a master hacker who discovers the identities of the secret agents. English travels to France with his loyal sidekick Bough (Ben Miller) to track down the hacker--and also launch missiles at French cyclists.
As with any good spy movie, there are gadgets as well in the form of VR goggles and special magnetic boots. Obviously, things do not go to plan with these, as you'll see in the trailer.
Oscar winning actress Emma Thompson joins the cast for the new movie. Also new to the cast is Olga Kurylenko, who appears to be playing a role that parodies her role in the 2008 James Bond movie Quantum of Solace.
The first Johnny English movie came out in 2003 with the sequel Johnny English Reborn arriving in 2011. The movies grossed around $160 million each worldwide, with the overwhelming majority of box office revenue coming from markets outside of the US.
