Admittedly we may have a exaggerated a tad with our title (emphasis on "tad"), but holy moly, what an insane amount of wattage. The new Hercules 1600W power supply from Rosewill (Newegg's house brand) is a beast that is probably bigger than what the wiring in most homes is capable of supplying, at least at full bore. Speaking of which, can you imagine the system it would take to fully stress a PSU like this?
Rosewill went with a dual +12V rail design. The Hercules pumps out up to 110A on the +12V1 rail (up to 1320W with PCI-E connectors) and another 50A (up to 600W for the other connectors) on the +12V2 rail. It has a modular design, is 80 Plus Silver certified, and plenty of connectors for multiple graphics cards (16 6+2 in connectors).
"The Hercules is packaged in a deluxe silver casing, and with 1600W, it’s built ready to carry your computer gaming energy needs to the next level," Rosewill says. "The 80 Plus Silver certified HERCULES 1600W power supply adopts a 135mm silent fan which features an auto fan control to regulate the fan speed to keep it cool while also incorporating a Turbo button to rev the fan to maximum performance."
As you might imagine, the price tag is as beastly as the PSU. It's available now at Newegg for $400, plus another $15 for shipping.
