  • Microsoft Reveals Surface Pro Pricing Details, Launches in January

Generally speaking, guessing games are fun, just not when it comes to having the guess the price or launch details or a highly anticipated product. Good news, then. You can stop wondering how much Microsoft's Surface with Windows 8 Pro (Surface Pro from here on out) tablet will cost or when it launch, because Microsoft revealed both today. Short and to the point, Surface Pro will hit store shelves in January, 2013.
The 64GB standalone version will set you back $899 and the 128GB model starts at $999. Both will come with a Surface pen and Palm Block technology. If you decide to hand your Surface RT tablet down to the kids, you can keep the Touch Cover or Type Cover (both sold separately) and use it on the Surface Pro.
Why would you want to go with Surface Pro rather than the less expensive Surface RT models? The primary reason is x86 compatibility. There's no ARM in Surface Pro. Instead, it flexes an Intel Core i5 processor to drive the 10.6-inch ClearType display and all your current Windows 7 desktop applications. As Microsoft states, "it's a full PC AND a tablet." It also features a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) resolution, a full-size USB 3.0 port, and a Mini DisplayPort that can drive an external display up to 2560x1440, Microsoft says.

So, now that you know the pricing, do you plan on picking up a Surface Pro tablet when it's available in January? Sound off in the comments section below!
