  • Android Screen Sizes Still on the Rise – Huawei Leaks Details on a new 6.1-inch Monst

    How big is too big?

The dubious honor of largest “useable” Android smartphone used to belong to the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Note II, however if the executives at Huawei get a say, 6.1-icnhes is the new sweet spot. The company is intentionally leaking the details on its new plus sized smartphone to avoid getting lost in the CES shuffle, but the big take away here is that Android phones are continuing to increase in size at a staggering rate.
According to Engadget, the phone will feature a 1.8GHz HiSilicon K3V3 quad-core chip, along with a 4,000 mAh battery to drive its ridiculously large 6.1-inch 1080p display. At that size and resolution it easily tops the iPhone’s “Retina” display, offering up 361 ppi. The video below shows Huawei’s Richard Yu showing off the phone at a store in Guangzhou China.
The street price is estimated to be around $480, however availability is still a mystery. We can’t help but wonder if the screen size war will end at 6.1-inches, or continue to escalate. Let us know what you consider to be the “ideal” screen size for a phone in the comments below.
