  • LG to Demo UltraWide IPS Monitors at CES

LG will attempt to get the UltraWide display party started at CES.

The annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is coming up next week, and in the meantime, companies are having a tough time keeping products under wraps. One of the things that will be on display at CES is a premium IPS monitor lineup from LG. What makes LG's monitors stand out from the crowd, however, is that at least one will feature an UltraWide panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
"LG has focused on blending highly specialized functions with stellar IPS technology. These three monitors will push boundaries and reshape people’s expectations," said Il Geun Kwon, Senior Vice President and Head of the IT Business Unit at the LG Home Entertainment Company. "The UltraWide, ColorPrime and Touch 10 offer solutions for nearly every task imaginable, whether it’s watching the latest blockbuster movie, perfecting a graphic design, educating a child or anything in between. With this diverse range of creative and highly advanced products, LG has definitely set the tone, and the pace, for 2013."
One of the monitors is LG's EA93, purportedly the world's first monitor to feature a 21:9 aspect ratio. It's a 29-inch display designed for watching movies and other widescreen format content. For multitasking chores, the display offers a 4-way split screen feature. And with the Dual-Link Up function, users can connect the monitor with up to two external devices.
LG also plans on showcasing the ET83 Touch 10, which is a 23-inch panel designed for Windows 8. It sports 10-point multi-touch support, and will likely be one of many Windows 8-friendly monitors on display at CES.
