  • Digital Storm Conjures Up Wet and Wild Hailstorm II Gaming PC

Pricing starts at $2,762 for a Hailstorm II system.

Boutique system builder Digital Storm claims it's the first system integrator to build a gaming PC line -- Hailstorm II -- inside Corsair's Obsidian Series 900D chassis. Digital Storm chose Corsair's case with good reason. It offers space for up to four radiators ranging from 140mm to 480mm, and can accommodate up to four graphics cards, as well as multiple processors, depending on your budget.
"When we (Digital Storm) set out to redesign Hailstorm we knew it would be a challenging to improve on a system capable of handling nearly any high-end configuration an enthusiast could dream up," said Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm’s Director of Product Development. "This meant the search was on for the biggest and baddest chassis available. When we saw the Corsair 900D at CES we knew we had the enclosure we needed to make the original Hailstorm look like a small mid-tower system and not the bad ass high performance system it really was."
You don't have to be a robber baron to have fun with a Hailstorm II, though these aren't budget PCs by any means. Digital Storm offers the new gaming series in one of four "Levels," with a "Level 1" configuration starting at $2,762. That gets you the aforementioned chassis, Intel Core i7 3770K processor, Asus Z77 Sabertooth motherboard, 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory, Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, Corsair liquid cooling, Asus Blu-ray combo drive, Corsair 1050W power suppy, and Windows 7 64-bit.
If money is no object and you want to do your part to keep PC sales on the up and up, a Level 4 configuration runs $8,085 and includes an Intel core i7 Extreme Edition 3970X processor, Asus X79 Rampage IV motherboard, 16GB of DDR3-1866 memory, three Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan cards in tri-SLI, 240GB solid state drive flanked by a 1TB hard drive, custom exotic liquid cooling, Blu-ray combo drive, and Windows 7.
All system configurations undergo 72-hour stress testing and benchmarking, and are backed by a 3-year warranty.
