One thing's clear. The Switch 2 is launching into a very complex environment. Just a look at today's Nintendo Direct, or rather the comments scrolling on the side of the IGN feed over on YouTube. Someone wants a proper 3D Donkey Kong game. Someone else wants Waluigi in Smash. Someone wants Jet Set Radio - I promise that one was not me - someone else wants a full-blown sequel to Twilight Princess.

Switch 2 might be promising exciting new instalments of classic franchises (like, say, that open-world Mario Kart), but Nintendo's now also confirmed it'll be releasing special enhanced editions of original Switch games featuring higher resolutions, improved frame rates, and more.

While the Switch 2 is backwards compatible with original Switch games - and some are even receiving an upgrade - there are still a number of games with compatibility issues on the new console, including Fortnite.

EA Sports has offered some scant clarification as to whether or not its EA Sports FC and Madden NFL games, announced today as coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, will be fully-fledged annual entries such as FC 26, or more limited 'Legacy'-style versions. The Switch 2 versions, EA says, will aim for parity "as much as the hardware allows."

My goodness, Nintendo has packed in a lot of news this afternoon, hasn't it.
We finally got a true look at the Nintendo Switch 2 during today's Nintendo Direct!
Now, you may not know this about me, but along with being quite the Nintendo fan, I am also a HUGE James Bond fan. So, when Nintendo teased a particular spy was going to be coming to its Switch successor, well, my ears pricked up.
Microsoft has announced its first wave of Game Pass titles for April.
